CONCRETE CANOE CONTEST IN GOLDEN, COLORADO

We had a great time in Colorado attending the annual Concrete Canoe Contest. It is held at a different location every year and next year it will be in Provo, Utah. Yes, Provo so if you feel compeled to come watch I highly suggest it. It was so fun and not something that you see everyday of your life. I had a hard time believing that concrete can float, but as you see here, it does. Our canoe did very well in all of the events and to boast a little more we beat BYU in every event...woohoo!! It was soooo funny to watch BYU's canoe sink as they struggled to cross the finish line...HaHa!! There were many schools that came for the competition and did pretty well. There was South Dakota, whose canoe ended up breaking into four pieces on the drive over to CO, University of Wyoming, University of New Mexico, whose canoe was awesome in competition as well as the look of the canoe, University of Colorado, Colorado School of Mines, Metropolitan, Air Force, Utah State, BYU and of course U of U. All of the students involved in making the canoe did an awesome job and we look forward to the competition next year!!

What a fun contest! Did Michael help to make the canoe? Maybe we can borrow the canoe for our family reunion. Ha! Ha!
