THE FIRE STATION!

Quinton's preschool class took a field trip to the fire station a few weeks ago. They were able to see how the firemen live and what they do while on the job. Each fireman has there own room to sleep, a kitchen to prepare there meals, and nice comfy recliners to relax in while waiting for a call. Quinton thought the best part was getting to see the 3 different fire trucks they have at the station. Each having its own name, which I do not remember.

SOCCER = FUN & TROPHIES

In the midst of all the Halloween fun, Quinton also had his last soccer game. Mike and I were unable to attend this game so my mom came down to take him (Thanks Mom!) Mike had an Awards Banquet for a Civil Engineering Scholorship! Way to go Babe! :)

Quinton did really well playing and enjoying his last game and at the end all of the kids recieved there very own trophy. Congratulations on finishing your first soccer season bud!

HALLOWEEN WEEK

The week of Halloween was full of fun this year. It started with an annual East Village Halloween party where the kids were able to decorate cookies, a candy bag and play with friends. Quinton was sick that day so he wasnt feeling totally like himself, but insisted that he must attend. The kids were dressed up as Spiderman & UTAH cheerleader this year. They both looked great!

On Wednesday we went to our wards Halloween Trunk-or-Treat. It was fun but a bit on the chilly side. After the trunk or treating we had a nice dinner and then fun games for the kids. Quinton dressed up as Venom the evil spiderman. In case your wondering, his costume is reversible which I found our after I purchased the costume and luckily it came in rather handy.

On Saturday we went trick or treating in the afternoon with a group of friends and their kids at "Officers Hollow" in Fort Douglas. Each house that you went to had a different theme. The kids were able to go inside most of the houses and participate in coloring or other activities. Quinton didnt really seem to like it much, why we arent sure.

Later on that evening, Mike went with some other guys to the UTAH football game and the kids and I joined the wives for a potluck dinner. After dinner we took the kids trick or treating around the neighborhood. We all had a great time and thankfully the weather was great!

PUMPKIN CARVING

On Saturday Evening we decided that is was time to get some pumkins for carving. After getting home we started that process of cleaning out the pumpkins. Quinton loves to help us clean out the pumpkins. Since that is really the only thing he was able to do, I am glad he was willing to get all yucky. Once they were all cleaned out, Mike and I stared the carving process. We started with Quintons Saturday night and ended with Aleena's Sunday night. The carving took quite a bit of time. Quinton's pumpkin is pac man meaning "game over". Aleena's is a rest in peace sign, Mike's is a evil clown face and mine is a Black Widow. They all turned out looking pretty good and we all had a great time together.

Happy Birthday Megan!

Thursday was Megan's 27th Birthday. The day was full of activities, in fact, the day was so long that Aleena didn't even get her nap. Because of this, she was very irrate by the end of the day. For Megan's Birthday I took her out shopping for maternity clothing since she is beginning to show now. After picking Quinton up from school, we went to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and had dinner at The Garden on the 10th floor. Shortly after dinner, Quinton had a soccer game at the Spence Eccles Field House along with team and individual pictures. After the soccer game, we quickly went home (because of Aleena) and had cake and ice cream. It was a fun day and hopefully Megan will remember her 27th Birthday with fond memories. Happy Birthday Megan!

OUR LITTLE SOCCER PLAYER

Quinton had his first soccer game on Thursday Sept 17. He had a hard time adjusting to what he was supposed to do, but once he got the hang of it he did not want to come off the field. He did a great job and had tons of fun.
Yesterday (sept 24) was his second game, he did so much better. He knew and understood what to do and at the very end of the game he scored a goal all by himself. It was so awesome and he could not have been happier. He was jumping up and down and running around while giving me a thumbs up. Quinton's grandma and uncle (my mom and brother) came to watch him play as well as try to get an autograph from Deron Williams, whose daughter plays on Quintons team.
We were all so proud of you Quinton. Way to go buddy! We love you:)

PRESCHOOL :)

Quinton started Preschool on Monday(9/14) and absolutely loves it. He attends preschool from 12:30 till 4:00 Monday through Thursday. It has been nice having a quiet home, with no screaming and yelling (since Aleena naps while he is gone), but at the same time I am sad that he is gone. I cant believe my baby is old enough. I have seen alot of change in him just within these few days of school and I look forward to more changes in the future.
I am so lucky and proud to be Quinton's mom.

ANNIVERSARY & VEGAS

Since we never do anything fun on our anniversary, Mike and I decided that we needed to take a trip without the children. Our first attempt was to take a cruise to Cabo but that did not end up working out as planned. So at the last minute we decided that we would go to Las Vegas. We left thursday after dropping the kids off at mikes parents. After the long drive, we finally made it to "Sin City" Yes, you're probably thinking "Why Vegas?" Well believe it or not they have many fun, appropriate things at alot of the hotels. A couple things we did were The Shark Reef @ Mandalay Bay and the Dolphin Habitat & Lion Exhibit @ The Mirage, we both enjoyed these very much and we highly recommend them.

LAGOON

This was Quintons first time to Lagoon and it was so much fun watching his face light up whenever he went on a ride. We started off in Kiddieland and Quinton took off like a firecracker. He eventually rode all of the rides and them some. We had a great time!

4TH OF JULY

We joined my family this year to celebrate the 4th of July. We went to Fat Cats, a place in Ogden that has a bowling alley, arcade games, I Fly, flight simulators and bumper cars. We went bowling and had lunch. After that we played arcade games and then went to my parents home. We got our suits on and did some slip-n-slidin, had some waterballoon fights and had a BBQ. After eating and cleaning up, we headed outside for some fireworks. The kids had fun doing the sparklers and watching the fireworks that my brother and I would set off.

LIBERTY PARK & FRIENDS

A few weeks ago the kids and I went with some friends from the court to Liberty Park. We had a picnic and let the kids run and play in the water park they have. We had a great time and look forward to doing it again.

OUR LITTLE MONKEY

A week or two ago, we went outside so the kids could play. I was visiting with friends and as I looked over to see what Aleena was doing, I found this...

Keep in mind that she is only 11 months old and can already climb and go down the slide on her own!

WAY TO GO QUINTON!!

Quinton is quite fearless and is always surprising us with trying and accomplishing new things. The other day one of Quinton's friends was trying to ride a bicycle without training wheels. Quinton started begging me to do the same so I decided to let him try. After pumping up the tires he took off like lightning. I was so Happy for him and completely surprised. I guess he takes after me because I did the same thing when learning to ride a bike.
We love you and congrats :0)
Pictures will come soon!

FIRSTS

While we were on another sand dune trip, we had a few new things happen that were some big milestones for the kids.
The first was Aleena took her first 3 steps. It was so exciting to watch and we are sure that she will be walking very soon.

The second is Quinton drove a fourwheeler for the first time. My parents bought a little fourwheeler for Quinton and his cousins. Quinton was the only one present when we went to the dunes so he was able to drive the fourwheeler. Surprisingly he did an awesome job and had too much fun. We couldnt keep him off of it.

And last but not least, Aleena had her first ride on a fourwheeler. Mike took her around the circle at our campground and she seemed to enjoy herself. Thankfully there were no tears involved...YAY!!
