Campout In Payson Canyon:)

We had a great time hanging out with friends around the campfire. We arrived at Blackhawk campground on Friday June 6th but to our surprise, the campgound had not even opened up yet. Odd, I thought since we had no trouble making reservations. We ended up finding out that there was no running water and the firewood they promised was a lie. Now what kind of campground is this?? Well it all turned out great in the end. The people that were preparing the campground were kind enough to help us out with having running water. I thought that was very generous of them. As the evening went on we had lots of fun talking, laughing and just being lazy. Mike and I had planned a great breakfast for the following morning. I had made sure that we had a dutch oven, and all the food that was needed for this wonderful breakfast. Well to my surprise when I awoke from my slumber, I discovered that the dripping sounds on our tent was not rain, oh no it just had to be SNOW!! yes you read correctly, it was snowing!! I guess that Utah for ya. So instead of freezing our tails off while waiting for breakfast, we all decided to pack up and head down the canyon. We stopping in Springville for breakfast at IHOP and then proceeded in our seperate destinations for the day. Despite the lovely surprise of snow, It was great to get away from the mundain world and just relax. We had a great turn out and look forward to doing it again. Thanks for a great campout everyone!!

LITTLE SAHARA SAND DUNES

My family makes a yearly trip to "Little Sahara" for memorial weekend. Unfortunately this trip was mostly rained upon. We only recieved a couple nice days and of course the best day was the day we came home...typical right!! We had the Robisons come down for a day and of course it was when we were recieving all of that lovely rain. Mike and I felt really bad and I had wished many times that the weather would of been in my hands. Hopefully they will join us again when its not raining... The highlight of the trip was diminished as well. My dad is a sand rail fanatic and has so far built 3 of them. I was looking forward to taking a ride in it, as well as many others but as the luck runs in my family, it broke. My dad took it out for 10 minutes and discovered that the oil seal had come loose and oil was leaking like a waterfall. Despite all of the drama, we had a nice time visiting with friends of the family and being able to take some rides on the dunes. As always, we look forward to our next sand dune adventures. Some of these pictures were taken from a previous trip.

ICE BLOCKING!!!

For Family Home Evening we got together with the Raddons, Truscotts, Robisons, and Hokansons for a fun filled evening of ice blocking. There is an awesome hill in Fort Union called Flat Iron Park. As you can see from the pictures, the hill is pretty steep but boy does it give you a thrill while going down on a block of ice. We all had an awesome time and plan to do it again this summer. Mike and I have thoroughly enjoyed this group of friends that we associate with on a daily basis. We are very grateful for them and hope that our friendships can last a lifetime. Thanks for a great night everyone!

USA YEAR END BASH!!

The University Student Apartments put on a party for the residents families to celebrate the close of another semester and so we joined in on the festivities. They had alot of fun activities for the kids and some for the adults. Quinton was able to go into the jumping house and loved it so much that he had to go back about 3 or 4 times. They also had a blow up jousting arena that the adults could go try. Mike and a few of his friends that live in our court gave it a try. Poor Mike got nocked to his feet a few times...but I would too if I were in his shoes. He did get a couple good hits in though...go mikey!! Quinton also enjoyed the petting zoo and tried his best to scare the poor animals. He kept growling at the mini horse and goat, but all they did was stand there and continue eating...quite the character he is. We had hot dogs, chips and drinks for the meal and this year they treated all of those that got there right around 5:00, Jamba Juice's...yummy!! We had a great time and enjoyed visiting with friends.
